THE MODULE
The Challenge
The technology to deliver sustainability globally.
Air Pollution
Around 91% of the world’s population lives in places where air quality levels exceed WHO limits.
Biodiversity
Urban growth and the ongoing densification of many cities around the globe challenge the existence of ecosystems.
CO2
Buildings are currently responsible for 39% of global energy-related carbon emissions:
28% from operational emissions 11% from materials and construction.
Our Solution
CORE TECH
Terranite.
Terranite, a cementitious compound that is life-giving & carbon-negative, developed in partnership with leading British Universities.
A next-generation construction material that holds the key for biology to thrive on its surface.
Our technology proposes to disrupt current linear modes of operation through the Terraformation of our urban environment, bringing back natural systems to everyday life.
APPLICATION
1) Our Alive Cladding panel is inherently carbon negative by virtue of certain key components that lock away carbon.
2) The panel is designed to exceed British Standards strength requirements for non-structural cladding, and does so with the help of nature-based strength-giving compounds.
3) Our system has been designed from the ground up with fire safety in mind. This means it is not restricted by height when used as an external cladding unit.
4) Our cementitious compound is developed for bioreceptivity; whereas typical cementitious materials repel biological life, our non-toxic compound draws is it in.
5) Our system provides thermal insulation in the winter, and evaporative cooling in the summer.
6) The cementitious matrix is designed to retain water in an internal water reservoir, collected passively via rainwater collection. This water is transported to the moss zones on the surface of the panel, providing passive irrigation.
7) Our panelling system is modular by design, whereby additional units can be seamlessly added to already implemented cladding facades.
8) Our panels are delivered as a flat-pack system and are easy to install; they hang as a standard rain-screen cladding system.
9) Our panelling system operates passively; all functions, from water retention to the proliferation of biological life, require zero maintenance.
